Football Game Preview: Las Lomas Knights vs. Acalanes Dons + Official Tickets

The Las Lomas Knights will challenge the Acalanes Dons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Las Lomas has struggled recently with three defeats in a row, while Acalanes will arrive with nine straight wins.

On Friday, Las Lomas ended up a good deal behind Campolindo and lost 21-7. While losing is never fun, the Knights can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California football rankings (they are ranked 388th, while the Cougars are ranked 161st).

Meanwhile, Acalanes was not the first on the board on Friday, but they got there more often. They enjoyed a cozy 31-14 victory over Clayton Valley Charter. That's two games straight that the Dons have won by exactly 17 points.

Acalanes' win came from a few key players Las Lomas will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Tyler Winkles, who threw for 208 yards and a pair of TDs, and also rushed for 30 yards and one touchdown. Acalanes' leading receiver Finley Rivera was Winkles' top target yet again, picking up 131 receiving yards and one score.

Acalanes was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 212 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 194 rushing yards in six consecutive contests.

Acalanes' win bumped their record up to 9-0. As for Las Lomas, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.
