After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Highlands, Newport Central Catholic was happy to have turned things around on Monday. They put the hurt on the Calvary Christian Cougars with a sharp 19-11 win. The result was nothing new for the Thoroughbreds, who have now won four contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

The victory got Newport Central Catholic back to even at 4-4. As for Calvary Christian, they dropped their record down to 1-9 with the defeat, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season.
