Softball Game Preview: Galt Warriors vs. Rosemont Wolverines

Galt hasn't had much luck against Rosemont recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Warriors will look to defend their home field against the Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. Galt has given up an average of 9.4 runs per game this season, but Thursday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Galt fell victim to Liberty Ranch and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They lost 30-0 to the Hawks. The game marked the first time this season in which the Warriors were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Rosemont came up short against Bradshaw Christian on Tuesday and fell 5-2. The Wolverines have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Talia Adams spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and four unearned) runs on seven hits.

At the plate, Jalaya Cozart was cooking despite her team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 2-for-4. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged two or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Rosemont's loss dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Galt, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-10.

The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Thursday as neither team is afraid to steal. Galt has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Rosemont struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 4.1 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.

Galt suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Rosemont when the teams last played back in March. Can the Warriors avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
