Sickles waltzed into their game on Monday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 4-3 W against the Armwood Hawks. For the Gryphons, this counts as revenge for the 1-0 win the Hawks walked away with the last time they faced one another back in March of 2019.

Zach Dial made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two stolen bases.

In other pitching news, Peter Tsikouris tossed a big game, striking out seven batters over 4.2 innings while giving up three earned runs off five hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts.

Back at the plate, Jake Taylor was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Martz, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.

Sickles' record is now 11-3. As for Armwood, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-10.

Coming up, Sickles will take on Carrollwood Day in a tournament on Tuesday. As for Armwood, they are taking a road trip to square off against Tampa Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
