Volleyball Recap: May River Sharks vs. James F. Byrnes Rebels
May River faced James F. Byrnes in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Sharks fell 2-0 to the Rebels. If the Sharks were looking for revenge after losing 2-1 to the Rebels when the teams met back in September of 2023, then they'll just have to keep looking.
May River was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made James F. Byrnes work for it, especially in the first set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 29-27, 25-15.
May River's loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-8. As for James F. Byrnes, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-9.
Coincidentally, May River and James F. Byrnes will both be playing Airport the next time they take the court. The Rebels will head out to face the Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Sharks will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
