Basketball Recap: Onsted Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

Onsted put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victor by a 59-34 margin over the Madison Trojans. The Wildcats pushed the score to 53-23 by the end of the third, a deficit the Trojans cut but never quite recovered from.

Onsted had a senior duo take command as Talan Hutchinson dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 assists and Aidan Paquin made all 8 shots he took racking up 19 points. Those 11 assists set a new season-high mark for Hutchinson. The team also got some help courtesy of Rylan Henagan, who posted nine points and three steals.

Onsted pushed their record up to 5-0 with the win, which was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.7 points per game. As for Madison, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Onsted Wildcats challenge the Central Bearcats at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Madison, they will head out to challenge Adrian at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
