Baseball Game Preview: Crossings Christian Knights vs. Perry Maroons

The Crossings Christian Knights will challenge the Perry Maroons at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The two teams are strolling into their matchups after big wins in their previous games.

Crossings Christian took a loss when they played away from home on Tuesday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Anadarko a 10-0 shutout.

Cale Doughty looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024.

At the plate, Collin Sullivan was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing five bases while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. JT Bargas was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing three bases while going 2-for-2.

Meanwhile, Perry came tearing into Saturday's contest with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 5.7 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Black Bears 13-2. The result was nothing new for the Maroons, who have now won 11 games by seven runs or more so far this season.

Crossings Christian pushed their record up to 8-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.3 runs on average over those games. As for Perry, their victory bumped their record up to 14-8.

Crossings Christian might still be hurting after the 15-0 loss they got from Perry in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
