Football Recap: Fort Lauderdale Comes Up Short

Monday just wasn't the day for Fort Lauderdale's offense. They took a blow against the Boyd Anderson Cobras on Monday, falling 53-0. While losing is never fun, the Flying L's can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 260th, while the Cobras are ranked 38th).

Ariana Stoveall continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Boyd Anderson, throwing for 172 yards and six touchdowns while completing 81.3% of her passes, and also rushing for 30 yards and one touchdown. What's more, Stoveall racked up 154.2 passer rating, the most she's had since back in February.

Fort Lauderdale is on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7. As for Boyd Anderson, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.

Coming up, Fort Lauderdale will venture away from home to face off against Blanche Ely at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Fort Lauderdale has given up an average of 27.1 points per game this season, so hopefully the team got some defensive drills in this week. As for Boyd Anderson, they will be playing at home against Palm Beach Gardens at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Boyd Anderson will aim to continue their five-game streak of scoring more points each matchup than the last.
