Basketball Recap: Thursday's Defeat Ends Lehigh Christian Academy's Winning Streak

After a string of five wins, Lehigh Christian Academy's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They fell just short of Calvary Baptist by a score of 53-51. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Calvary Baptist apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Lehigh Christian Academy lost, don't look at Jacob Lewis. Despite the final result, he posted 31 points. Lewis' evening made it 11 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Josiah Kuhns was another key player, putting up ten points.

Lehigh Christian Academy's loss ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 5-3. As for Calvary Baptist, the victory got them back to even at 2-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lehigh Christian Academy won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bethlehem Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bethlehem Christian knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past ten contests -- so hopefully Lehigh Christian Academy likes a good challenge. As for Calvary Baptist, they will face off against Martin Luther at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
