Softball Recap: Phil Campbell Drops Season-High Score on Sheffield

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Phil Campbell). They were the clear victors by a 27-6 margin over the Sheffield Bulldogs on Wednesday. The Bobcats haven't had any issues with the Bulldogs recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive win against them.

Phil Campbell got a massive performance out of McKenzie Kratz, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those two hits gave Kratz a new career-high. Chaley Bullington was another key player, scoring four runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in all three of her plate appearances.

Kratz wasn't the only one making solid contact: Phil Campbell kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Sheffield only managed two hits.

Phil Campbell's victory bumped their record up to 12-16. As for Sheffield, they are on a 39-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-19.

Coming up, Phil Campbell will head out on the road to take on Haleyville at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Sheffield, they will challenge Tanner at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
