Basketball Game Preview: Milton Panthers vs. Bartow Yellow Jackets

Two dominant guards in Treymar Jones and Ja'Kylen Crossley are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. Having just played yesterday, the Milton Panthers will jump right back in to play the Bartow Yellow Jackets at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Milton sitting on five straight victories and Bartow on four.

On Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Milton beat Unicoi County 44-38.

Meanwhile, Bartow took their match on Thursday with ease, bagging a 73-43 win over Winter Haven. The Yellow Jackets have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 24 points or more this season.

Bartow found their leader in sophomore Messiah Borders, who went 6 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 27 points and six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Borders has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Crossley, who went 5 of 10 on his way to 14 points.

Bartow was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Winter Haven only racked up eight assists.

Milton has been performing well recently as they've won seven of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-5 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.4 points per game. As for Bartow, their victory was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 13-6.
