Volleyball Recap: Decatur's Run of Four Straight Victories Now Over

It was a good run, but Decatur unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-match winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Houston Mustangs by a score of 2-1. The Red Raiders were not able to make up for their defeat to the Mustangs from their previous meeting back in September of 2023.

Emma-Glenn Roby paced Decatur's offense, picking up eight kills. Roby got some help from Sarah Roberts and her ten assists. Roby also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Caroline Coulter, each putting up two.

Houston was led to victory by Sydni Vice and Ansley Pardue. Vice had 11 digs and one assist, while Pardue had 12 assists and four digs.

Decatur's loss dropped their record down to 9-15. As for Houston, they have been performing well recently as they've won 11 of their last 13 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season.

Decatur has already played their next match, a 2-0 victory against Lincoln on the 19th. As for Houston, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 2-1 defeat against Bayside Academy on the 20th.
