It was a proper cat-fight when Jacksonville took on Richlands on Monday. The Cardinals came out on top against the Wildcats by a score of 5-1. The victory continues a trend for the Cardinals in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won nine in a row.

Carter Moore and Cannon Smith were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Moore tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Smith didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over six innings pitched. Moore has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. At bat, Moore went 1-for-2 with one double and one RBI, while Smith scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Vasco Sutton and Ryan Yates did most of the damage at the plate: Sutton went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI, while Yates scored a run and stole two bases while going 1-for-3. Jaron Buie also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Jacksonville's record is now 8-9. As for Richlands, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 5-10 record this season.

Jacksonville will be taking part in a tournament against McMichael at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Richlands, they will be playing at home against White Oak at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
