Softball Recap: South Pontotoc Picks Up Fourth Consecutive Victory

South Pontotoc waltzed into their match on Monday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They put the hurt on the Vardaman Rams with a sharp 18-1 win. Considering the Cougars have won eight games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

The team relied heavily on Blakelee Dollins, who fired off two home runs and eight RBI while going 3-for-3. Preslee Austin was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

South Pontotoc always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .519. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Vardaman only posted an OBP of .286.

South Pontotoc's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Vardaman, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-4.

Coming up, South Pontotoc will take on East Webster at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Vardaman, they will welcome Houlka at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
