Basketball Recap: Pensacola Christian Academy Comes Up Short

Pensacola Christian Academy lost against West Florida Baptist Academy back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Pensacola Christian Academy Warriors lost 62-38 to the West Florida Baptist Academy Conquerors. The Warriors have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Loss or not, Pensacola Christian Academy got some senior leadership from Isaac Fulfer and Jake Stoodt. Fulfer went 6 of 11 on his way to 13 points, while Stoodt posted nine points and four steals. The dominant performance gave Fulfer a new career-high in points. Carson Hubbart also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season.

Leading West Florida Baptist Academy to victory were Shepard Brown and Kaleb Wiggins. Brown went 10 for 16 en route to 25 points, while Wiggins went 8 of 12 on his way to 22 points in addition to six assists and six rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Brown has scored at least a third of West Florida Baptist Academy's points. Another player making a difference was Colin Harrison, who put up a point and ten boards.

Pensacola Christian Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 8-10. As for West Florida Baptist Academy, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 19-4.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pensacola Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Northview at 7:00 p.m. on January 28th. West Florida Baptist Academy will also get a bit of a break before their next match: they'll face off against Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 28th.
