Baseball Game Preview: Victor Valley Jackrabbits vs. Granite Hills Cougars

For the second straight game, Victor Valley will face off against Granite Hills. The Jackrabbits will welcome the Cougars at 3:15 p.m. on Friday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Victor Valley has four straight victories, Granite Hills has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Victor Valley hadn't beaten Granite Hills on the road since April 19, 2023 but that history sure didn't bother them on Wednesday. The Jackrabbits walked away with a 4-1 win over the Cougars.

Victor Martinez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on four hits.

On the hitting side, Victor Valley's victory was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Rafael Cabrera, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. That's the most hits Cabrera has posted since back in April of 2024. Emilio Sbolci was another, going 2-for-3 with one run.

Victor Valley's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-12. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.3 runs over those games. As for Granite Hills, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-7.
