Soccer Recap: Belmont Comes Up Short

The Belmont Marauders didn't have quite enough to beat the Lexington Minutemen on Wednesday and fell 2-1. While losing is never fun, Belmont can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Massachusetts soccer rankings (they are ranked 139th, while Lexington are ranked 43rd).

Belmont now has a losing record of 2-3-4. As for Lexington, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1-1.

Coming up, Belmont will head out to challenge Winchester at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Lexington, they will look to defend their home pitch on Saturday against Boston College High at 1:00 p.m.
