Basketball Recap: Lincoln Southwest Takes a Loss

Lincoln Southwest lost against Omaha North back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Lincoln Southwest Silver Hawks fell 80-70 to the Omaha North Vikings. The Silver Hawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

When it comes to explaining why Lincoln Southwest lost, don't look at Makkiah Sanders. Despite the final result, he went 10-for-16 to rack up 30 points. Sanders' evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 21 points. Another player making a difference was Dakari Wilson, who went 5-for-11 on his way to 12 points and five rebounds.

Jerri'On Williams was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double with 27 points and ten boards for Omaha North. Williams has become a key player for Omaha North: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least 25 points, but 6-12 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Dontae Mcdowell, who went 6-for-10 en route to 17 points.

Lincoln Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 12-9. As for Omaha North, their victory bumped their record up to 8-13.

Coming up, Lincoln Southwest will welcome Omaha Central at 7:30 p.m. on February 21st. As for Omaha North, they will head out to take on Burke at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
