Apollo lost to Sunnyslope back in November of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Hawks put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 64-43 win. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest victory the Hawks have posted against the Vikings since January 30, 2018.

Sunnyslope's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Shannon McIlroy, who dropped a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds, and Maggie Luba, who dropped a double-double with 16 points and 11 boards. McIlroy is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last seven games she's played dating back to last season.

The win made it two in a row for Apollo and bumps their season record up to 3-2. The team dominated over those games too, winning by an average of 24 points. As for Sunnyslope, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Apollo will face off against Centennial at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Hawks are facing the Coyotes at the right time seeing as the Coyotes are stuck on a four-game losing streak. As for Sunnyslope, they will square off against Desert Vista at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. The game will give the Vikings their first taste of in-conference action this season.
