Fruita Monument took a three-set loss the last time they faced off against Palisade, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats won by a set and slipped past the Bulldogs 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Wildcats have posted since September 14, 2024.

Cambelle Brammer paced Fruita Monument's offense, picking up 17 kills. Brammer got some help from Parker Clarke and her 44 assists. Brammer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Fruita Monument now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Palisade, they now have a losing record of 1-2.

Fruita Monument will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Grand Junction at 6:00 p.m. on September 9. As for Palisade, they will hit the road for the first time this season to square off against Eagle Valley at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
