Fruita Monument took a three-set defeat the last time they faced off against Palisade, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. The Wildcats sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Bulldogs on Saturday. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 3-0 victory the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.
Cambelle Brammer paced Fruita Monument's offense, picking up 17 kills. Brammer got some help from Parker Clarke and her 37 assists. Brammer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.
Fruita Monument now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Palisade, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.
After both having extra time off, Fruita Monument and Grand Junction will shake off the cobwebs and hit the court against one another at 6:00 p.m. on the 9th.
