Basketball Game Preview: Denver City Mustangs vs. Brownfield Cubs

The Denver City Mustangs will square off against the Brownfield Cubs at 6:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

On Friday, Denver City came up short against Stanton and fell 47-34. While losing is never fun, the Mustangs can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 835th, while the Buffaloes are ranked 320th).

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 69-23, which was the final score in Brownfield's tilt against Stanton on Tuesday.

Brownfield's defeat dropped their record down to 6-19. As for Denver City, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.

Everything went Denver City's way against Brownfield when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as Denver City made off with a 63-39 win. Will Denver City repeat their success, or does Brownfield have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
