Baseball Recap: Frontier Finds Home Field Redemption Against Redwood

There's no place like home for Frontier, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Wednesday. They had just enough and edged out the Redwood Rangers 8-6. The Titans have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Rangers on Friday, too.

Frontier let Jaylen Tia and Robert Salazar run wild. Tia got on base in all four of his plate appearances with one home run and two runs, while Salazar went 1-for-2 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Landon McDonald, who scored a run and stole Two bases. while going 1-for-3.

Frontier always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Redwood only posted an OBP of .276.

Frontier's victory was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Redwood, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 0-2.

Frontier didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 13-1 win against Bakersfield on the 4th. As for Redwood, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 2-1 defeat against Hanford on the 3rd.
