Volleyball Recap: Ravenswood Comes Up Short

Ravenswood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Albans Red Dragons. The Red Devils were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Red Dragons apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in September of 2024.

Ravenswood started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last two. The final score came out to 23-25, 26-24, 15-4.

St. Albans' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Morgan McVicker, who had six aces and four digs. Those six aces gave McVicker a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaliyah Reynolds, who had ten digs and three aces.

Ravenswood's loss dropped their record down to 9-6. As for St. Albans, their victory bumped their record up to 13-10.

Coincidentally, Ravenswood and St. Albans will both be playing Sissonville the next time they take the court. The Red Devils will host the Indians at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Red Dragons will play them later in the day, at 7:00 p.m.
