Football Game Preview: Chesaning Indians vs. Ovid-Elsie Marauders

The Chesaning Indians will challenge the Ovid-Elsie Marauders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Chesaning hasn't scored more than 13 points for six games straight, a trend the squad is eager to reverse.

Chesaning's offense might be in the hot seat on Friday considering what happened against Montrose on Friday. They were dealt a 54-0 defeat at the hands of the Rams. While losing is never fun, the Indians can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan football rankings (they are ranked 411th, while the Rams are ranked 41st).

Meanwhile, after only ten points in their last game, Ovid-Elsie made sure to put some points up on the board against Birch Run on Friday. The Marauders breezed past the Panthers to the tune of 42-7. The result was nothing new for the Marauders, who have now won three contests by 26 points or more so far this season.

Chesaning's loss dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Ovid-Elsie, their win bumped their record up to 4-2.

Chesaning strolled past Ovid-Elsie when the teams last played back in October of 2024 by a score of 23-7. Will the Indians repeat their success, or do the Marauders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
