Softball Recap: Eureka Loggers vs. Arcata Tigers
Eureka had lost seven straight at home, but on Saturday they dropped their record down to 0-15-1 to make it eight. They fell just short of the Arcata Tigers by a score of 9-8. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tigers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 13-3 on April 9th.
Macy Secor made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double. Mallorie Beauchamp was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs.
As for Arcata, their victory bumped their record up to 6-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win they have posted since March 28th.
On Arcata's side, Peyton Miller was incredible, going 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Miller a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lily Cunningham, who went 2-for-4 with two runs.
We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Eureka will square off against rival McKinleyville at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Meanwhile, Arcata is set to face off against their familiar foe Fortuna at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
