Softball Recap: Arlington Gets the Win

While Arlington's victory against Cascade wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Eagles won by a run and slipped past the Bruins 3-2. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Eagles have posted since March 30th.

Peyton Aanstad spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered two runs (both of which were unearned) on two hits and racked up ten Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.

On the hitting side, Arlington let Kinsey Marchand and Jen Rivera run wild. Marchand went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs, while Rivera went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases Marchand has posted since back in April of 2025.

The victory made it two in a row for Arlington and bumps their season record up to 8-9. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered a grand total of 4 runs in those games. As for Cascade, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-16.
