Baseball Game Preview: Pacifica Christian Tritons vs. Costa Mesa Mustangs

The Pacifica Christian Tritons will take on the Costa Mesa Mustangs at 3:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.

Pacifica Christian came out on top against Webb on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 12-run fourth inning. The Tritons never let the Gauls get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory. Winning may never get old, but the Tritons sure are getting used to it with their ninth in a row.

Meanwhile, Costa Mesa made easy work of University on Monday and carried off a 16-3 win.

The team relied heavily on Wylan Rottschafer, who went 4-for-5 with one home run, four runs, and five RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Ben Quintero, who went 1-for-2 with one home run and two runs.

Costa Mesa always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .513. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as University only posted an OBP of .241.

Pacifica Christian's record now sits at 17-5-1. As for Costa Mesa, their record is now 21-6.

Pacifica Christian came up short against Costa Mesa when the teams last played back in February, falling 7-4. Can the Tritons avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
