Softball Game Preview: East Mecklenburg Eagles vs. Ballantyne Ridge Wolves

The East Mecklenburg Eagles will head out to take on the Ballantyne Ridge Wolves at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday.

East Mecklenburg came into this matchup off a tough ten-run defeat on Friday. This time they kept things ultra-competitive, but unfortunately the final result was the same. They fell just short of Providence by a score of 7-5 on Tuesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Eagles have suffered since April 23, 2024.

Meanwhile, Ballantyne Ridge can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. Everything went their way against North Mecklenburg as Ballantyne Ridge made off with a 10-1 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Wolves' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.

Dhaitha Dasari was incredible, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one run. Another player making a difference was Elyse Ficker, who scored a run and stole two bases while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
