Basketball Recap: Community Leadership Academy's Losing Streak Is a Thing of the Past

There's no place like home for Community Leadership Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Saturday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Munroe Bobcats 60-58. The win was some much needed relief for the Lions as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

When it comes to explaining why Munroe lost on Monday, don't look at Zelden Chukes. Despite the final result, he went 10 for 14 on his way to 20 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks. The matchup was Chukes' fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Wright, who posted six points.

Community Leadership Academy's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 2-7. As for Munroe, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 6-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Community Leadership Academy will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Munroe at 7:30 p.m. on January 7, 2025. As for Munroe, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Munroe Bobcats duke it out with the Blountstown Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Munroe's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last four contests.
