Basketball Game Preview: A.C. Flora Falcons vs. Fort Mill Yellow Jackets

The A.C. Flora Falcons will take on the Fort Mill Yellow Jackets in a tournament on Thursday.

A.C. Flora is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Dutch Fork just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They took a 51-44 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Silver Foxes. The game marked the Falcons' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Meanwhile, Fort Mill had already won five in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21.6 points) and they went ahead and made it six on Friday. They walked away with a 56-43 victory over the Copperheads. Given the Yellow Jackets' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 18th, while the Copperheads are ranked 164th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

A.C. Flora better keep an eye on Logan Parker. He was instrumental in Fort Mill's win, going 10 of 13 on his way to 26 points along with five rebounds and three blocks. Parker has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Nas Berry was another key player, going 5 for 10 on his way to 13 points and five assists.

Fort Mill pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.6 points per game. As for A.C. Flora, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-4.
