Soccer Game Preview: Stranahan vs. Mourning

The Stranahan Mighty Dragons will take on the Mourning Sharks at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.

Stranahan is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Friday. They never let Norland onto the board and left with a 5-0 win. The Mighty Dragons' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last matchup, Mourning made sure to put some goals up on the board against Northwestern last Thursday. Everything went their way against the Bulls as they made off with a 7-0 victory. Considering the Sharks have won four contests by more than three goals this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Northwestern from everywhere, as six different players booted in a goal. Manuel Ricci led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for two goals all by himself.

Mourning has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-2-2 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those nine matches. As for Stranahan, their win bumped their record up to 4-7.
