Volleyball Recap: Elk Grove Takes a Loss

Elk Grove was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Pleasant Grove Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Thundering Herd of the 3-0 defeat they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in April of 2024.

Elk Grove took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 25-27, 25-19, 22-25, 25-17, 15-8.

Elk Grove's loss dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Pleasant Grove, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 4-1.

Coming up, Elk Grove will challenge Laguna Creek at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Laguna Creek will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something Elk Grove surely won't give up without a fight. As for Pleasant Grove, they will square off against Sheldon at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
