Baseball Game Preview: New Rochelle Huguenots vs. John Jay Patriots

New Rochelle hasn't had much luck against John Jay recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Huguenots will square off against the Patriots at 12:00 p.m.

New Rochelle is leaving town to face John Jay after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Huguenots came up short against North Rockland on Saturday, falling 19-0. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it six in a row.

Meanwhile, John Jay put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. Everything went their way against Lakeland as they made off with a 10-4 victory. Fans of the Patriots have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

John Jay got a great performance from Shawn Caragine as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over 4.2 innings pitched.

At the plate, John Jay let Austin Seipp and Shane Driscoll run wild. Seipp went a perfect 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, four RBI, and one triple, while Driscoll scored three runs and stole two bases while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave Seipp a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Alex Jendras, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.
