It was a proper cat-fight when Sealy faced off against La Marque on Friday. The Tigers' pitcher stepped up to hand the Cougars a 13-0 shutout. The Tigers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 20 matchups by six runs or more this season.
Sealy got a great performance from Kimberlee Aguirre as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Aguirre has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in 11 consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Alivia Ramon, who fired off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 2-for-3. That's the most home runs she has posted since back in February. Caylee Syzdek also deserves some recognition as she hit her first triple of the season.
Sealy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .435. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as La Marque only posted a batting average of .222.
Sealy's record is now 26-2. As for La Marque, they now have a losing record of 12-13-1.
Coincidentally, Sealy and La Marque will both be playing Freeman the next time they take the field. The Tigers will host the Golden Eagles at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while the Cougars will head out to face them at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
