Recap: Sedgwick County Cougars vs. Holyoke Dragons

The Sedgwick County Cougars put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Holyoke 47-15 on the road. Given Sedgwick County's advantage in MaxPreps' Colorado basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Holyoke is ranked 229th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Sedgwick County was led to victory by Abigail Dille and Lainee Nein. Dille scored 13 points, while Nein scored 11 points along with eight steals and six assists. That makes it four consecutive games in which Dille has scored at least 25% of Sedgwick County's points. Avery Goddard was another key contributor, scoring seven points.
Perhaps unsurprisingly given the score, Holyoke struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Sedgwick County's win bumped their record up to 4-0. As for Holyoke, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-3.
Sedgwick County will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Wiggins at 7:00 p.m. on December 15th. Hopefully Wiggins focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 on Thursday. Holyoke won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Haxtun at 12:00 p.m. on December 15th. Haxtun comes in still looking for their first win of the season.
