Basketball Recap: Warner Robins Comes Up Short

Warner Robins was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They fell 59-50 to the Wayne County Yellow Jackets. The Demons were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Yellow Jackets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2025.

Dwayne Smith had another great game (as he tends to do), shooting 47% from the field en route to 25 points in addition to five rebounds and three steals for Wayne County. The team also got some help courtesy of Ralph Doomes, who went 7-for-13 on his way to 16 points along with seven boards and three steals.

Warner Robins' defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Wayne County, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 10-4.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Warner Robins will challenge rival Benedictine at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Wayne County is set to take on their familiar foe New Hampstead at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
