Baseball Recap: Glendale Comes Up Short

If Glendale was feeling good fresh off their 7-1 takedown of Sierra Linda on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Cardinals fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 12-11 on Wednesday. The Cardinals were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Bulldogs earlier this season, when they won 7-1.

Jose Miranda stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 2-for-4 with three RBI, one run, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Ezekiel Trujillo, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Glendale has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-6 record this season. As for Sierra Linda, their win was their first in the region, bumping their region record up to 1-5 and their overall record up to 3-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Glendale will take on Mohave at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Sierra Linda, they will square off against Washington at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
