Pleasant Grove faced Woods Cross in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Vikings lost 3-0 to the Wildcats. The Vikings' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Molly Mitchell paced Pleasant Grove's offense, picking up seven kills. Mitchell got some help from Marley McCandless and her 20 assists. McCandless also made an impact serving: she shared the team lead in aces with Addie Beck, racking up two apiece.

Pleasant Grove now has a losing record of 5-6. As for Woods Cross, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 8-0.

Coincidentally, Pleasant Grove and Woods Cross will both be playing Mountain Ridge the next time they take the court. The Vikings will head out to face the Sentinels at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, while the Wildcats will play them later in the day, at 3:00 p.m.
