Volleyball Recap: Wilby Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Yasmin De Souza and Jilianys Ramos-Santiago

Wilby lost against Waterbury Career Academy back in September and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Wildcats lost 3-0 to the Spartans. The Wildcats have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Wilby ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-20, 25-19.

Wilby's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jilianys Ramos-Santiago, who had 21 digs and two assists, and Yasmin De Souza, who had 24 digs.

Wilby's defeat dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Waterbury Career Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 13 of their last 15 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Wilby nor Waterbury Career Academy have any future games scheduled.
