Softball Recap: Andover Picks Up Tenth Consecutive Win

Andover waltzed into their game on Thursday with nine straight wins... but they left with ten. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Robbinsdale Armstrong Falcons a 9-0 shutout. Considering the Huskies have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Alex Kostecka made a splash no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over six innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with three RBI and one triple.

In other batting news, Taegen Groess was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Avery Stock, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Andover kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in four consecutive matchups.

Andover's record is now 16-3. As for Robbinsdale Armstrong, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-8.

Coming up, Andover is taking a road trip to take on Champlin Park at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Robbinsdale Armstrong, they will square off against DeLaSalle at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
