Baseball Recap: Centralia Comes Up Short

Centralia lost against Marion back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Orphans took a 6-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Wildcats. The home team had taken home the W every time these teams have met since April 23, 2024, but that streak is no more.

Centralia saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Archie Goewey, who went 1-for-3 with one home run.

Centralia's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Marion, they are on a roll lately: they've won 15 of their last 17 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season.

Centralia will head out to challenge Fairfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Mules will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something the Orphans surely won't give up without a fight. As for Marion, they will look to defend their home field on Wednesday against Trico at 4:00 p.m.
