Flag Football Recap: Italy Mejia-Reneaud's Menacing Defense Leads Legacy over Roosevelt

It may have taken triple overtime to finish the job, but Legacy ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with an 8-6 victory over the Roosevelt Rough Riders. The Tigers haven't had any issues with the Rough Riders recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Legacy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Italy Mejia-Reneaud, Natalia Guzman, and Jasmin Ortiz picked up one apiece.

Legacy's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Roosevelt, their loss dropped their record down to 10-7.

Coincidentally, Legacy and Roosevelt will both be playing Garfield the next time they take the field. The Tigers will head out to face the Bulldogs at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, while the Rough Riders will head out to face them on Friday.
