Preview: Harding University Rams vs. West Cabarrus Wolverines
Harding University has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against the West Cabarrus Wolverines at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Monday, Harding University beat Piedmont 43-35. The victory was just what Harding University needed coming off of a 93-71 loss in their prior match.
Harding University's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Chase Bryson, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 17 rebounds, and AJ Jenkins, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds and six assists. Those seven rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. CJ Caldwell was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, West Cabarrus scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They walked away with a 65-58 win over Dreher. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Harding University's win ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 3-5. As for West Cabarrus, their win bumped their record up to an identical 3-5.
