Softball Recap: Eastlake Wins Going Away Against Ramona

Eastlake lost a heartbreaker the last time they played Ramona, but it's fair to say they got their revenge given the result of Monday's game. The Eastlake Titans never let the Ramona Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 10-0 win on Monday. That ten run margin sets a new team best for the Titans this season.

Kaili Balajadia and Camila Castillo dominated on the mound. Balajadia pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits, while Castillo pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. What's more, Balajadia posted four strikeouts, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.

On the hitting side, Eastlake got a massive performance out of Mackenzie Olshenskie, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Olshenskie has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Rachel Del Busto, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and one double.

Eastlake always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .516. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Eastlake's victory ended a three-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-1. As for Ramona, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Eastlake will venture away from home to face off against Granite Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average, (Granite Hills 3.8, Eastlake 1.2) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Ramona, they will head out to square off against El Camino at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. El Camino's pitching crew has only allowed 2.8 runs per game this season, so Ramona's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
