Baseball Recap: North Greene Comes Up Short

North Greene extended their losing streak to five on Friday, dropping their season record down to 8-9 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 4-3 heartbreaker at the hands of the Carter Green Hornets. The Huskies were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Green Hornets apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

As for Carter, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 21-5. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

For Carter's part, they saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Luke Burnette, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one double.

Coming up, North Greene will be playing at home against Chuckey-Doak at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Carter, they will face off against Union County at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.
