If Swallows Charter Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Trinidad, they should've done a better job of containing Danica Shipley. The Trinidad Miners walked away with a 47-34 win over the Swallows Charter Academy Spartans on Tuesday thanks in part to Shipley, who almost dropped a double-double with 16 points and nine boards. She is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in each of the last four games she's played.

Swallows Charter Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Erica Ponce, who posted ten points and six steals. Swallows Charter Academy is 5-2 when Ponce posts five or more steals, but 2-8 otherwise. Jade Anaya was another key player, putting up 15 points in addition to seven rebounds and three blocks.

Trinidad now has a winning record of 8-7. As for Swallows Charter Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-10.

Trinidad didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 46-10 victory against Dolores Huerta Prep on the 12th. As for Swallows Charter Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 61-16 win against Cripple Creek-Victor on the 13th.
