Volleyball Recap: Tri-Valley Vikings vs. Mattoon Greenwave

Tri-Valley was the 2-1 winner over Mattoon when they last played one another back in September of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Vikings fell just short of the Greenwave by a score of 2-1 on Saturday.

Presley Shanahan paced Tri-Valley's offense, picking up seven kills. Shanahan got some help from Lauren Louck and her 16 assists. Kinley Morris controlled things from the service line, finishing with four aces.

Among those leading the charge was Brooke Jobe, who had 13 digs and two aces. That's the most digs she has posted over her last six matchups.

Tri-Valley's loss dropped their record down to 15-6. As for Mattoon, their win bumped their record up to 13-14.

Coming up, Tri-Valley will challenge Tremont at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Mattoon, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-1 defeat against Champaign Central on the 4th.
