Basketball Game Preview: Columbia Coyotes vs. Tri-Cities Prep Jaguars

The Columbia Coyotes will venture away from home to square off against the Tri-Cities Prep Jaguars at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Columbia will be strutting in after a victory while Tri-Cities Prep will be coming in after a defeat.

Last Tuesday, Columbia made easy work of Kittitas and carried off a 58-33 win. Given Columbia's advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 103rd, while Kittitas is ranked 213th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Tri-Cities Prep suffered their biggest loss since December 10, 2024 on Tuesday. They lost 52-26 to Cle Elum-Roslyn. The matchup marked the Jaguars' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Columbia pushed their record up to 11-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.2 points. As for Tri-Cities Prep, the defeat snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 6-7 record.

Columbia skirted past Tri-Cities Prep 34-31 in their previous matchup back in December of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Columbia since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
