Baseball Recap: Hermon Triumphs

Hermon won the last time they faced Mount Desert Island and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Hawks walked away with a 5-2 win over the Trojans. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Mason Kinney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on six hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hermon saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brayden Ladd, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that Ladd has hit this season. Eli Cormier was another, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Hermon's record now sits at 6-3. As for Mount Desert Island, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 2-4 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hermon will take on Ellsworth at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Mount Desert Island, they will head out to challenge Bucksport at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
